Environment and prevention
Instruction and requirements related to protecting clients and workers:
- Clients and workers will no longer need to practice social distancing in all places (indoor and outdoor areas) in all activities and events.
- Wearing mask is not required in outdoor or indoor areas, but it is recommended to wear it indoors.
- It is recommended for employees to wash their hands with soap and warm water for a period of no less than 40 seconds after each client or disinfect hands for a period of no less than 20 seconds with sanitizer in the absence of soap and water.
- It is recommended to follow the instruction regarding when, what, and how to wear safety and personal protection equipment, and the proper way to dispose of them. The protective equipment includes the following:
- Face mask: workers and clients must wear a mask at all times.
- Cutting Robe (cape): Each client should be wrapped in a clean single use robe that can be disposed after each client.
- Neck Tape: worker should use protective single-use neck bands for each client when cutting hair.
- Equipment used by each client (such as gloves, cape, etc.) must be disposed of immediately in a closed container, and provide single-use equipment for immediate disposal.
- It is recommended to provide the service to the client by one worker and prevent rotation in providing service by more than one employee.
- It is allowed to provide Moroccan bath services with the importance of disinfecting the toilet after each use and wearing professional protective equipment such as face protectors, protective glasses, a fabric or medical mask, and a plastic robe (cape).
- It is allowed to provide massage services. Follow the instructions contained in the massage service protocol.
Instruction and requirements related to the environment of the barber shop:
- It is recommended that to clean and disinfect of beauty salon before reopening.
- It is recommended that to clean and disinfect of surfaces routinely every two hours with disinfectants approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (such as, sodium hypochlorite), and the instructions shown on the packages must be followed, with a focus on places where there is a high possibility of contact, such as door handles, tables, seat armrests, elevator switches, etc.
- It is recommended that to provide hand soaps in toilets in sufficient quantities and disinfect of toilets every two hours with disinfectants approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.
- Tools should be washed with soap and hot water, then covered with disinfectant daily and frequently. Consider the time required for disinfection, which is usually written on the disinfectant label.
- Use only single-use sheets and towels, and do not use washable towels and sheets.
- It is recommended that to distribute hand sanitizers at visible places such as entrances, reception areas, workstations, toilets, etc. It is preferable to fix them on the wall.
- It is recommended to have a record of cleaning and disinfection times of surfaces and toilets.
- Workstations
- Clean and disinfect of all spray nozzles, hair dryers, foam handles, chairs dedicated for washing, dyeing, and cutting hair, and chair armrests.
- Clean and disinfect of all reusable items and store them in a sealed, airtight container.
- All appliances, caps, scissors, scissors protectors, combs, brushes, tool trolleys, and any other items used for clients’ service should be cleaned and disinfected.
- Ensure that all products such as lotions and creams are placed in a sealed container after use, if not disposed of and replaced.
- All single-use items such as tissues and nail care utensils, such as coolers, should be disposed of after use.
- Dispose of any product that may be contaminated due to improper use of hygienic practices to be followed and replace it with a new product.
- Clean and disinfect of all baskets and waste bins. Use containers that have lids and disposable liners.
Awareness
- Distribute the awareness brochures issued by the Ministry of Health and the Public Health Authority, about the following:
- Methods of disease transmission and prevention.
- Washing hands and avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth before washing hands, with paying attention to personal and health care.
- Follow the etiquette of sneezing and coughing (use a tissue and dispose it as soon as possible, use the elbow by bending the arm).
- Continuous warning of the importance of adhering to safety instructions, protection from disease, and limiting costumers overcrowding in the barbershop.
- It is recommended that to place a panel that includes a statement of the violation and the method for reporting them inside the barber shop.
