Prevention:
- Workers and children will no longer need to practice social distancing in all places (indoor and outdoor areas) in all activities and events.
- Wearing mask is not required in outdoor or indoor areas, but it is recommended to wear it indoors.
- It is recommended to follow the instructions bellow:
- Allocate a bed for each child in the bedrooms, with a commitment to continuously disinfecting the bedsheets and mattresses.
- Emphasize adhering to washing hands with soap and water frequently for at least 40 seconds each time or sterilize them with an approved sterilizer for no less than 20 seconds in the absence of soap and water.
- Provide nannies and employees with safety and protection equipment, which include gloves and masks, and they must be provided at the entrance.
- Establish a designated pick-up and drop-off time to reduce congestion at these times.
- Assign one nanny to be responsible for taking care of a group of children during the entire period.
- Assign nannies to each kindergarten and daycare center and prohibit their work between more than one kindergarten and daycare center.
Preventive requirements and facility environment
It is recommended that to follow the instructions below:
- Hand sanitizers should be distributed and placed at visible places such as the entrance to the kindergarten centers, daycare centers, toilets, dining or playrooms.
- Ensure that hand soap is available in toilets and that the disinfectant contains 80-60% of alcohol, and is in compliance with the requirements of the Food and Drug Authority.
- It is recommended that to adhere to routinely disinfecting surfaces every two hours with disinfectants approved by the Food and Drug Authority (such as, sodium hypochlorite), and follow the instructions shown on the packages, with an emphasis on places where there is high possibility of contact such as door handles, tables, shelves, toys, etc.
- It is recommended that to remove dirt with soap and water before the disinfection process.
- Ensure that the toilets are disinfected after each use with approved disinfectants.
- Nannies must wear gloves and masks during diaper changing inside health facilities or toilets.
- Disposed of carpets and bed sheets, and replace them with what can be disposed of after each use, or with what can be disinfected by easier methods.
- Use single-use sheets and towels as possible.
- Follow the detailed instructions in “The practical guide for cleaning and disinfection for public facilities to combat COVID-19” issued by the Public Health Authority.
- Ensure that children personal items are not sharing with other children, such as milk bottles, clothes, bibs, etc.
- Use single-use food utensils (spoons, saucers, cups), made of plastic or paper.
- Ensure good ventilation in all places, especially gathering places, and reduce the temperature inside the facility.
- Regularly change or clean air filters of ventilation devices, especially air conditioners.
- A schedule of disinfection times for surfaces and toilets must be kept.
- Sterilize tools that might be shared by nannies or children, such as pens, educational tools, toys, cooking utensils, etc.
Awareness and education
- Distribute the awareness brochures issued by the Ministry of Health and the Public Health Authority, about the following:
- Modes of disease transmission and prevention.
- Washing hands and avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth before washing hands, with paying attention to personal and health care.
- Follow the etiquette of sneezing and coughing (use a tissue and dispose it as soon as possible, use the elbow by bending the arm).
- Place a panel that includes a statement of the acts that violate health requirements and the method of reporting them.
