Hospital Visitors

  • Checking temperature at entrances is not required.
  • Visitors will no longer need to practice social distancing in all places (indoor and outdoor areas) in all activities and events.
  • Wearing mask is not required in outdoor or indoor areas, but it is recommended to wear it indoors.
  • Follow (The Scientific Guidelines of Disinfection) when cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, facilities and toilets.
  • It is allowed to use touching screens such as information screens and Absher service devices and the like.
  • Follow the transport sector protocols regarding transporting visitors.
  • Ensure good ventilation in all places, especially in gathering places and toilets. It is preferable to use natural ventilation in addition to air conditioners and to reduce the temperature in all places especially in the halls.
  • Change or clean the air filters for ventilation devices, especially air conditioners, periodically.
  • During the visit period, the number of visitors will be in accordance with the policy of the hospital , with an emphasis on reducing the number of visitors to a minimum while reducing the duration of the visit to the shortest possible period according to the patient’s place and health status.
  • Allow two visitors to the ward rooms and one visitor for ICU patients, taking into account the room space and the rotation of the visitors to avoid crowding.
  • Restrict the visits to intensive care patients (ICU) so that the number of visitors does not exceed three per day.
  • Legalize visits of children who are not obliged to take the vaccine, to the hospital so they are only allowed to visit their first- degree relative, provided that the patient is fully vaccinated.
  • Prevent visitors who are not from patient related from entering the hospital like volunteers.
  • Restricting the visit to specific hours for all visitors, and it is preferable to schedule it in advance to reduce the crowding, with the importance of clarifying the following before the visit:
  • Educate visitors about the precautionary measures and conditions of the visit, and it must include a pledge to abide by these conditions, preferably when booking the visit appointment.
  • The visitor is required to wear the surgical mask all the time, and wear the personal protection equipment properly if necessary, according to the directions of the hospital staff throughout the visit time, and he/she must disinfect his/her hands well with alcohol- based sanitizer before and after visiting the patient and when touching the patient’s belongings.
  • The visitor can only visit the patients who have been granted permission to visit.
  • Waiting before and after visiting are not allowed and allocate a separate waiting area in case of need.
  • The visitor will be asked to go directly to the patient’s room and then leave the hospital as soon as the visit ends.
  • Each visitor must stay at the bedside for the duration of the visit, unless the care team directs them to another location.
  • Handshakes and hugs between patients and visitors are prevented.
  • Facilitate and encourage the alternative methods of communication, such as the use of remote communication applications, while providing assistance from staff to patients if necessary.
  • One caregiver or person per patient is permitted in the pediatrics and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and these visitors must only be parents or their representatives.
  • Visiting the intensive care sections (ICU) and intermediate care for adults and newborns will be from behind a glass barrier.
  • Prevent visits for cases infected or suspected of having COVID-19 .
  • Prevent visits to immunocompromised patients.
  • Make a visitor log.
  • Asking visitors to inform hospital officials if they develop symptoms of respiratory infection and upon confirming their diagnosis of COVID-19 disease within 14 days from visiting the hospital.
